This colorful, widespread wildflower is classified as an annual to a short-lived perennial. It is known for its bright yellow daisy-like flowers with black cores 2-3 inches across. Black-eyed Susan grow in clusters atop 1-2 ft. stalks. Bristly hairs cover the stems and the dispersed, oval leaves. The rough and hairy stems reach a height of 76 cm (30 inches) and contain huge oval leaves that narrow near the top of the plant.
