Houston weather has been unforgiving to this poor flower! Planted in ground November 2023.
Freeze, endless rain, hurricane, drought, full 100F afternoon sun, snow—all between now and then. She’d start to grow and something kicks her down or wilts her upper leaves.
However! This week she finally bloomed!! And she is just so beautiful! Large double blooms, there are 4 so far that have bloomed but there appears to be a couple more buds! I can’t wait for her to multiply so I can have more showy blooms!
Don’t be distraught— let God and nature do their thing and she’ll bloom! I almost dug it up after a year, but left it be. So glad I didn’t do it!
