Hyacinths

Wear gloves when handling hyacinth bulbs as they can irritate skin. Plant your hyacinths six to eight inches deep and put them in an area that has at least 4-6 hours of sun. It's optimal to use a two-inch thick layer of mulch to help retain moisture and keep the bulbs cool. Standing water can rot the bulbs so be sure to choose planting areas that drain well. Water the garden after planting to settle the soil and establish root growth.
